Сдобих се с първите си Dr. Martens на 17 и от тогава това са единствените обувки, от които имам винаги поне два чифта в гардероба. Годините, в които аз бях пубертетка/в гимназията в България нямаше нито молове, нито особено голямо разнообразие и възможност за избор. Да се сдобиеш с Dr. Martens или Levi’s или дори Head & Shoulders беше трудно, много трудно. Да притежаваш каквото и да е, което беше мейнстрийм на запад или рекламирано по MTV те издигаше автоматично до ниво най-готин в училище. Банално, нали? Предполагам, че и сега е така, само че марките са други и хлапетата искат неща като IPod touch, IPhone, Wii, PSP… Новата кампания на Dr. Martens е под мотото First and Forever. И докато гледах снимките се сетих за първите ми чифтове, за това как изглеждаше София, когато аз бях на 17 (което всъщност е точно пред 17 години, ужас!). И за многото други първи неща.
I got my first Dr. Martens when I was 17 and since than this is the only shoe brand that is constantly represented in my closet with at least two pairs. When I was a teenager Bulgaria was way different than it is now. There were no malls and basically not a big choice of anything – clothes, shoes, accessories… If you had a pair of Dr. Martens or even a pair of Levi’s you cud easily become the next most popular kid in high school. Possessing anything that was mainstream in the western culture or anything that was aired on MTV was huge! To make it clearer – even kids who had Head & Shoulders were considered cool. Sound pathetic, right? Well, I guess that things aren’t that different today, only the things kids want and the brand names are different, like teenagers now want an IPod touch, IPhone, Wii, PSP… The new Dr. Martens campaign First and Forever images made me think of my first Dr. Martens shoes, of what Sofia looked like when I was 17, which is well, 17 years ago (17 years, awful!). And lots of other first things.
I love the campaign. It doesn’t look like the same old boring ad you have to face in a magazine or something. Somehow it really looks like a snapshot of a past event, that could easily be one of my first times of something.
This pair is just like one of my first Dr. Martens. Actually my second pair was like that. The first ones were simple blacks with the metal cap.
And this pair is definitely in my wish-list! Love the color – so vibrant and goes both with dresses and pants! And I desperately need a pair of Mary-Janes.
